On
November 10, 2008, Professor Robert Baker, Director of the Union Graduate
College-Mount Sinai School of Medicine Bioethics Program and lead author of the
report to the Board of Directors of the American Medical Association on African
Americans and Organized Medicine that led the AMAs Board to apologize for past
segregationist policies (published in JAMA last July), will join
with co-authors, Eddie Hoover, MD, editor of the Journal of the National Medical
Association, and
Professor Todd Savitt of East Carolina University, to present a panel
discussion on the report to a meeting of the AMA House of Delegates in Orlando,
Florida. Ronald Davis, past President of the AMA and Sandra Gadson, past
president of the National Medical Association will chair the panel.
