Dan
Patrone, PhD, current student in The Bioethics Program, has been awarded an internship in
research ethics at the National Institutes for Health (NIH) in North Carolina.
The NIH Office of Biotechnology Activities (OBA) offers
summer internships to students interested in gaining hands-on policy experience
in a Federal government office in the areas of biosecurity, gene transfer,
genetic technologies, and clinical research policy.
OBA is located in the
Office of Science Policy in the Office of the Director at the National
Institutes of Health. The office has a pivotal role in promoting the science,
safety, and ethics of biotechnology through the advancement of knowledge,
enhancement of public understanding, and development of sound public policies.
