The Office of Financial Aid and Family Finance of Union College provides financial aid services to the students of Union Graduate College. The Office of Graduate Admissions and Registration of Union Graduate College has a Financial Assistant who will process loan disbursements.

Federal Stafford Loan Program (subsidized and unsubsidized)

Matriculated full-time or part-time graduate students who are United States citizens or permanent residents and are taking at least one course per term during the academic year may be eligible for a Federal Stafford Loan.
Students interested in acquiring a Stafford Loan should contact the Office of Financial Aid and Family Finance (518-388-8744) and request a packet of materials.
These include:
- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA - see link at bottom)
- The Graduate Financial Aid Supplemental Form
- Verification Worksheet.
Students must submit a copy of their federal tax returns and the Stafford Loan Master Promissory note before the loan can be finalized. To apply for the loan on-line, contact the Financial Aid Office for instructions (518-388-8744).

Supplemental Loan Programs

Supplemental loans are available to students attending the Graduate College on a full-time or part-time basis. Loan approval is based on a review of credit worthiness and ability to repay. Loans are funded through private lenders and financial institutions. Applications are available at the Financial Aid and Family Finance Office in Grant Hall.

New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

This is a grant program for New York State residents who are full-time graduate students (enrolled for at least three courses per term) that currently provides awards ranging up to $550 per year. Eligibility is based on New York State net taxable income. Applications will automatically be mailed to qualified students upon completion of the FAFSA form.

Other Loans

Various types of alternative loans are also available through the Union College Financial Aid Office, including loans for non-matriculated students, those who have exceeded Stafford loan maximums, as well as loans for international students who have a co-signer who is a US citizen or permanent resident.
