Catching up with Maxwell Smith, MSB '10

Max finished his Masters in Bioethics in 2010. He is a now a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto who also holds an appointment with The Bioethics Program as an Adjunct Professor. He has just been accepted as a visiting junior researcher at The Brocher Foundation in Genvea, Switzerland. There, he and his research partner, Diego Silva, will be collaborating with the WHO department of Ethics, Equity, Trade and Human Rights.  

 Awards:

Max received two prestigious doctoral scholarship awards:1) Canadian Institutes of Health Research Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarships Doctoral Research Award for students pursuing a doctoral degree in a health field and 2) Canadian Institutes of Health Research Douglas Kinsella Doctoral Award for Research in Bioethics, which is given to the highest ranking applicant whose research focuses on ethical issues in healthcare research.
